  • Here are all the new changes coming with the iOS 27 Beta 4 update

Ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max release in September, Apple has rolled out the iOS 27 Beta 4 update. Although there are no major changes, there are small but incremental changes. From a new splash screen for Siri to an improved copy-paste shortcut, various changes improve your experience. While this isn’t a major update, it does bring plenty of changes across the board. Here’s everything new with iOS 27 Beta 4.

Apple Drops iOS 27 Beta 4 Update But Here’s Why You Shouldn't Update Yet

1. Refined Copy-Paste Shortcut

The paste menu has been improved in the iOS 27 Beta 4 update with a cleaner look. It not only shows the name of the app you are pasting from but also mentions if it’s a photo or a text with a small preview. The new user interface makes it easier to paste links, text, photos, and other screenshots.

2. Revamped Siri Splash Screen

If you summon Siri from the Dynamic Island or swipe down on the homescreen, a new splash screen will appear for the first time. It provides an overview of what the new Siri can do, highlighting its key features. With the new Siri, you can conversely naturally perform tasks within apps, and it even has a dedicated app that shows your past conversations. Since many users upgrading to iOS 27 won’t be familiar with the new Siri, this splash screen will help you understand its capabilities.

3. Improved Siri Voice Selection

In addition to the new Siri splash screen, Apple has improved the Siri Voice selection page. It now lets you preview the voices and choose the one you want. It even lets you select the colors, change the pacing and expressions to tweak it to your liking. These are dedicated sliders to adjust the intensity of these options. The iOS 27 beta 4 update also brings an “Always Show Request” option that provides a live transcription of all your voice commands. You can choose the number of lines to preview in the transcription from 0 to 5 lines.

4. No Depth Effect When Pulling Down Notification Center

In the previous iOS 27 Beta, an animation appeared that showcased your lock screen rolling down as you pulled down the notification center. But it appears that it was a bug rather than a new feature, as Apple has now removed it in the iOS 27 Beta 4 update.

5. Automatic Download in Apple TV app

If you love binge-watching shows on Apple TV, a new feature can now automatically download upcoming episodes for you. Introduced in iOS 27 Beta 4, the Automatic Download feature downloads the next two episodes of your favourite TV show that appear in your Continue Watching queue. This way you can even enjoy watching your shows even when you are offline.

6. Other Changes

The iOS 27 Beta 4 update adds plenty of changes, including bouncier animations and a fluid Liquid Glass look. Dark widgets now have better contrast, while Shortcuts icons have inverted colors.

Should You Upgrade to iOS 27 Beta 4?

Well, the short answer is no. Not because iOS 27 is mainly centered around gimmicky AI features, but because Beta 4 is unstable. Many users have reported bugs such as the navigation bar not working and widgets glitching out, battery draining during iPhone restarts, etc.

While beta updates are generally unstable, the beta 4 update needs some more work compared to previous iOS betas. Until Apple fixes all the critical bugs and makes the experience usable, we don’t recommend updating your iPhone to iOS 27 beta 4. The stable version of iOS 27 is only two months away, so if you use your iPhone as your primary phone, it’s probably best to wait.
